Responsibilities: The Physical Therapist Assistant’s primary role is to administer treatment programs established and written by the licensed Physical Therapist. The treatment program is designed to restore function, relieve pain, prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of a body part and assist in the client’s recovery. The PTA maintains records regarding services provided to each client and the client response and progress. This position participates in the department performance improvement process. The PTA participates in the necessary professional activities and organizations required to maintain licensure and a current knowledge of the field of Physical Therapy.
Qualifications: This position requires a current Alaska Physical Therapist Assistant license and graduation from Physical Therapist Assistant associates program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. The incumbent should have effective communication skills both verbal and non verbal.
