Description:
A paid four week orientation program is provided. Certification and other educational opportunities are also available. Treating patients/families with dignity and respect and incorporating them as members of their care team.
2. Serving/collecting food trays.
3. Safely feeding patients by being aware of and understanding all swallowing precautions.
4. Assisting patients with or safely performs bowel programs; assisting patients or empties urinary drainage bags; observing and reporting changes in character of urine and bowel movements.
5. Attending to grooming needs to include safely dressing, undressing, combing hair, assisting with makeup and deodorant, etc., as appropriate.
6. Turning/padding patients as needed; assisting with weight shifts; observing and reporting changes in skin appearance.
7. Accurately taking and recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and food and fluid intake and output as directed.
8. Safely transfering patients to/from wheelchairs, wheeled carts or assisting patients to walk as instructed; transporting patients as needed.
9. Making occupied and unoccupied beds; maintaining clean and orderly patient rooms; cleaning other areas of the unit as assigned.
10. Answering lights or intercom systems to determine patient needs and responding as needed.
11. Weighing patients as directed.
12. Adhering to all hospital policies/procedures.
13. Performing suctioning safely as delegated by RN.
14. Providing care to adolescent and geriatric patients and adapts the plan of care as needed.
15. Attending patients on outings as directed by the RN.

Job
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; heavy lifting abilities; previous patient care preferred.
CNA Certification is preferred but not required
