Category: Nursing//RN, Facility:Banner Desert Medical Center ,Location: AZ-Mesa (Banner Desert), Department:Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Shift is varied, 40 hours/week Part-time positions may be available. Previous NNP expereince required; will be working in the east valley at Banner Desert,Banner Mesa and Banner Baywood Medical Centers.
Responsibilities: The NNP is responsible for providing team-oriented primary-level medical care and patient management to a designated number of critical and convalescent newborns; providing necessary emergency, acute and supportive care for sick newborns according to established routines in the absence of a qualified physician; and ensuring the availability of clinical expertise for crisis management of high risk infants on a 24-hour basis.
Qualifications: The NNP is responsible for providing team-oriented primary-level medical care and patient management to a designated number of critical and convalescent newborns; providing necessary emergency, acute and supportive care for sick newborns according to established routines in the absence of a qualified physician; and ensuring the availability of clinical expertise for crisis management of high risk infants on a 24-hour basis. This position requires a registered nurse with current Arizona license, extensive experience in newborn, special or intensive care nursing; successful completion of an approved Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Specialty or related Master's level program; state certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and demonstrated competence as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and work effectively in emergency situations. Effective human relation skills are required for interacting with all levels of nursing and medical staff, patient families and other contacts.
