Description:
Category: Nursing//Leadership, Facility:Banner Desert Medical Center ,Location: AZ-Mesa (Banner Desert), Department:Emergency Department, Director of Emergency Department with 54 beds; plans for major expansion in the next 3 years. Busiest ED by volume in the state of AZ, approaching 100,000 visits; approximately 1/3 of patients are pediatric. Currently Level II trauma center; plans for increasing to Level I with expansion. Supportive of integrated community system.
Responsibilities: Direction, oversight, and evaluation of operational activities related to a Level II Trauma Center. Responsible for collaboration with other department leadership, resource allocation, financial plan and management, resource to staff, and mentor to department leadership.
Qualifications: To function effectively in this position the incumbent must possess a current RN license. A Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field is required and a Master's in nursing or business is highly prefered. Two years of leadership experience is required and previous ED Director experience is highly preferred. Must demonstrate flexibility in responding to the needs of multiple constituencies and a service-oriented philosophy. Must also demonstrate skill in problem analysis, project management, contract negotiation, conflict resolution and oral/written presentations.
