Category: Nursing//RN, Facility:Banner Desert Medical Center ,Location: AZ-Mesa (Banner Desert), Department:OB/Couplet Care /2C, Shift: Hours Varied (32 hours/week) Weekend rotation. Requires prior experience as a lactation consultant. IBCLC required.
Responsibilities: The Lactation Consultant is responsible for the development, implementation, management, and evaluation of the Lactation Program in the NICU/Level II Nursery. This program includes patient and staff education, breastfeeding problem identification, intervention, and documentation. The Lactation Consultant maintains relationships with staff, physicians, and patients to effectively promote the Lactation Program in the NICU/Level II Nursery.
Qualifications: This position requires a current RN license in the state of AZ, satisfactory completion of a lactation consultant training program, IBCLC required, two years experience in OB, GYN, and/ or neonatal nursing area, and two years experience in direct care of lactating mothers and their babies. CPR certification required.
