Horrible place, horrible CEO - 01/16/2009 13:05:35

I delivered my daughter there in June 2008. I developed pre-eclampsia... though you wouldn't know it, because the lab at the hospital delayed getting my results to my doctor, and then REPORTED THEM WRONG. They said I wasn't pre-eclamptic, the results indicated the contrary. This was one of two problems with the lab.
When I contacted the CEO, Jay Kreuzer, and explained the situation, he only got defensive. When I said, "I'm very concerned about having pre-eclampsia and delivering a premature baby at West Suburban because of this" his response was a dismissive, 'Sounds like you need to find a different hospital."
I tried, but unfortunately had to deliver two days later at West Suburban. The highlight of my two days there -- I checked out early despite a C-section -- was having my daughter transferred to the NICU at Loyola. Broken A/C, broken lights, delayed pain meds, indifferent nurses, RUDE nurses, meals not delivered (dinner on a Sunday night when everything closes at 8pm except McDonalds), meals messed up, billing errors that they claim are legitimate over and over until you prove they are not. The list goes on.
Reports on this and Mr. Kreuzer's behavior to the Vice President of Resurrection went completely unanswered.
I would go so far as to say these little things add up to one major problem just waiting to happen. I certainly don't wish anything bad on the patients, but I hope someone files a multi-million-dollar lawsuit so they'll be motivated to get their act together.
