Worst clinic, doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners ever!! Would never refer them to anyone! They do not care about their patients whatsoever. Everyone in this office are a bunch are very snobby!! They are more concerned about how many people they can get in and out of there than helping patients in pain. They treat you like a drug addict from the moment you come into their office for help. There were several mistakes made regarding my care, and a simple apology is all you get, yet you make a mistake and your a drug addict demon! Even though they are the ones that put you on the narcotics in the first place. They have no compassion, understanding, care, concern, nothing. They are so quick to judge you about your situation and say you need to seek psychiatric care because you cry about the frustration of being in pain. These people have no understanding about the hardships caused by pain. They immediately recommend a bunch of useless procedures and so quick to stick a bunch of needles in you. They also withhold information from you that is important to your care. Do not seek care here! Check around first, pain is hard enough to deal with without being treated like a complete idiot by people who are supposed to help you.
Awful clinic and doctors - 06/29/2012 20:56:42 Martha from Glendale, az
This clinic is the WORST medical experience I have ever had. Everyone on their staff is extremely rude and has no bedside manner at all. Their lack of compassion for people in pain is just plain pathetic. The clinic has all of these signs up around the office that state how they give care under God and they provide excellent service and care to their patients. BS! All they care about is patient pushing and money! Doctors and nurses are supposed to be and sign a vow to be compassionate and provide their patients with the upmost care and respect. Every time that I have gone into that clinic I have been looked down on and disrespected. Labeled as a bad patient because I didn't want to see a particular physician because of his lack of providing adequate information. People don't enjoy going to pain specialists, in fact dread it, and then to be treated so badly and pushed to get a bunch of needles poked into your back with hopes that it may or may not work. You never see the same doctor and you have to explain the same thing over and over again because the doctors/nurse practitioners fail to read your chart before coming into the room. They act as though it is a privilege for you to be in their presence. I really hope that someone will file a formal complaint with the medical board regarding this office.
Avoid AZ Pain Specialists! - 02/01/2011 11:32:23 Tonja from Chandler, AZ
Being a patient who is on Lovenox (blood thinner) for the rest of my life, my hands are pretty tied on what I can or can't do treatment wise for the chronic pain I've been experiencing for the past 5 years.
When I was doing my research to find a new "pain management" doctor AZ Pain Specialists website was one of the first things I ran across and read it completely to get a "feel" for the standards each doctor had and practiced.
Wow does their website misrepresent who they really are. What a disappointment, and what a shame.
A few of my complaints:
1) I was told before I left the office that one of my medications was already called into my pharmacy and should be waiting for me when I got their. I called the pharmacy on the way home...nope...no RX. We called the office back, left a message about the medication not being called in...it's a week later, and still no call back and NO RX called in.
2)I was told I would get the TENS unit to use at home and would be called in a few days (after my original appt) to get the instructions/referral to go get one. 2 weeks later, still no phone call and no TENS unit.
3)One week after my original appointment I ended up with Pneumonia, Tooth Abscess, and Sinus Infection. I was instructed in my original appt that I must NOT get an RX from ER at anytime unless I get approval. I went to see Dr. Thompson after my ER visit ~ he laughed at how sick I was looking (103 temp, coughing up blood, etc). He was trying to be light hearted, but when I look back now, it is frustrating.
Since I didn't accept an additional pain medication in the ER to assist me in my EXCRUCIATING mouth pain and massive discomfort on top of my chronic pain, I was told by Dr. Thompson he would give me a week worth of additional pain med to supplement me in my healing process. After some confusion, Dr. Thompson changed his mind completely and left it up to his assistant to share the news with me.
Rather than he himself calling me to discuss the matter, and address my questions I had to talk to his nurse and get absolutely NO answers....and talk about lack of concern or emotion.
4)In the back (behind the lobby) there is this area where the doctors, nurses, assistants sit to do their work. The walls are thin enough in the rooms to hear what is being said in this "work area" including who the doctor is calling, what they are saying, or who is up for a urine test, or why so and so did xyz...etc. There was absolutely ZERO privacy with the staff working in this area right outside the exam rooms....never mind the amount of noise there is...whew....laughing, loud talking and chatter, etc. (I was seen at the Chandler office)
I highly recommend this factory be avoided at all costs....there really is a lack of good care when it comes to pain management and to be taken seriously these days....you won't be taken seriously here, that's for sure!
Be careful - 03/12/2010 18:50:07 John from Payson
There's alot of hype at this organization. It's almost as if they have a marketing program. I had a short 10 minute visit with the doctor and was presented with literature about implants and told to notify my back surgeon as though my situation was caused by faulty surgery. Then I was seen after each injection only by a nurse practitioner who seemed to be doing their practicum and not very knowledgeable. I was prescribed the wrong med as it shouldn't be used with my present meds. It's almost as though nobody read the 10 page questionaire that I filled out before seeing the doctor. I have to say that the 2 injections I received did take my back pain away for 2 months. I am in the process of changing pain doctors and will be not be going back to Arizona Pain Specialists.
