Banner Behavioral Health Services have been providing safe, compassionate treatment care for adolescents adults and senior adults faced with the challenges of psychiatric and mental health issues, alcoholism and/or other drug dependencies residents.

At Banner Behavioral Health Hospital-Scottsdale, an experienced and appropriately credentialed treatment team includes addictionists, psychiatrists, psychologists, certified substance abuse counselors, psychiatric social workers, psychiatric technicians, occupational therapists, nurses and special education teachers ready to help clients in their recovery.

Banner Behavioral Health Hospital-Scottsdale is to be found on 9 lovely acres with pool, volleyball and basketball courts, a ropes course, expansive green lawns with many trees as well as areas for relaxation and meditation. Licensed for 100 long-term, rehabilitation/behavioral health beds, the facility provides comprehensive, compassionate care for adolescents, adults and senior adults faced with the challenges of psychiatric, chemical dependency, eating disorders and mental health issues. The hospital is also home to the highly acclaimed Wendy Paine O’Brian Treatment Center for children and teens with its own fully accredited on-site school.

Treatment services include intensive outpatient, day treatment and residential treatment; acute inpatient detoxification and stabilization, intervention, rehabilitation and education; and no-cost chemical dependency aftercare, as well as:

Also on campus is The Wendy Paine O’Brien Treatment Center. Founded in 1984 by Bill and Sada O’Brien. The Wendy Paine O'Brien Treatment Center offers unique programming for adolescents who have emotional, behavioral health or chemical dependency problems. Together with the highly acclaimed Howard S. Gray Education Program, Wendy Center has gained a national reputation for innovation, excellence, and success over the past 20 some years.

Founded in 1888 by Winfield Scott, a temperance-preaching Army chaplain from New York. Scottsdale, unlike many of its urban neighbors, did not find its path to growth and prosperity through the courting and conquest of industrial investors. Instead, Scottsdale became a resort with exclusive residential communities, fashionable shopping areas, and a city that fosters the arts. Campus-like business parks provide a strong economic base.


Grown from a tiny farming cluster of 2,000 persons occupying just one square mile in 1951, to a vibrant community of more than 180,000 persons spread over an area of 185 square miles, Scottsdale long known as the "West's Most Western Town”, has matured to a premier ”New West" urbane, sophisticated and cultured.


Besides its affluent cultural business and recreational environments surrounded by distinct architecture and manicured landscapes, Scottsdale’s quality lifestyle offers mountain preservation and protection of its rich desert surroundings.
