Tempe St. Luke Hospital is good if you are not able to get to any other emergency room in the area. I should have gone to Good Samaritan. I arrived at the hospital with severe chest pains. I was currently under the care of a cardiologist for chest pains, but these were more severe and lasted much longer than usual. The check in was quick and they took my case seriously, which I did appreciate. The E.R. Doctor was very concerned and spent time speaking to me about what he was interested in doing to assist me during my time there. After deciding to admit me, they ran several more tests...No prob so far.

After being admitted into a room hours later, I finally began to drift off to sleep. That didn't last very long unfortunately. The doctor on staff in my assigned wing spent 2 minutes asking me 6 questions related to heart health. He then ruled that I have reflux issues (which by the way feels nothing like the pain I felt). He would not spend any more time speaking to me. He allowed me to be discharged...and would not spend anymore time talking to me. The discharge nurse even told the doctor I really needed to talk to him. He told her that he had multiple things to do and did not have time to talk to me. He gave me a prescription for an antacid and sent me on my way. I told the discharge nurse that this medication would not help my symptoms because they were not reflux related and she told me that they give everyone in the wing of the hospital that same prescription. That was comforting(not really). I was treated more like a guinea pig without insurance, rather than a human being with good insurance coverage. Never again. I will go to Good Samaritan from now on. Be careful.
