Disgusted from NJ
Does not even rate a 1 in my book. Went there as a child in the mid 70s for tonsillitis surgery. I was treated horribly and their conditions back then. My Grandmom (97) was transported there for treatment of extreme lower back pain. She is being treated horribly by their staff there, and the conditions there are gross. They just keep pumping her full of drugs, and now they are telling my Mother and Aunt she has "Sundown Syndrome" on top of everything else, and the usual docile woman is now in restraints. The doctor was rude to say to my Mom and Aunt "How would you know, do you live with her?" My Mom and Aunt were about to rip the staff apart. My Aunt responded by saying they should know her well, that is their Mom, and they are with her all of the time, and she has never acted like this until she went to this hospital. Unfortunately, there is a law that prohibits a patient from being transferred to another hospital. She only takes medication for high blood pressure, and no other meds. No, it is called the staff there don't know what they are doing. I would not recommend people going to this hospital if you or a family member want the proper treatment and care. My Grandmom is getting out of there and going home, and I cannot wait for her to be brought home. At least there, she will be in her own element, cared for properly, and not drugged up to shut her up. I also spoke with my Grandmom on the telephone yesterday afternoon, after some of the meds were out of her system and she was very coherent. She spoke normally, and now her eyes are closed, and she is heavily drugged up again.
