At 6am on 7-9-08, my car flipped over a few times on Rt. 17 in Orange County. God bless the local rescuers who cut me out of my car & air lifted me to Westchester Medical Center. I had fractures to C1 & 2, a compound left arm fracture, broken middle left finger, scalp lacerations & swelling. Thank you to the NYS trooper who notified my family & friends and to the entire staff at Westchester Medical Center, formost the TIC personnel, nurses & staff of the 4th floor (in the Children's Hospital, I think), nutrition staff, techs, doctors, social workers. You all took care of me AND my family & friends who were scared out of their wits. I'm told it was thought that I'd be spending a much longer time there to recover, if at all. Through the prayers of many people and the hard work ALL of you did to help me, I survived & was discharged at the end of July!! I'm still healing & just celebrated my 57th Birthday. I'll NEVER complain about my birthdays again! Thanks to you, I still have them!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL
PS Some of you may remember me as the patient that kept trying to "breakout" of her bed & made the nurses call my daughter at 3am to convince me to let them administer medication!
