Patitnts come last at the pain clinic - 06/25/2009 20:45:02

I have had very good experiences at ARMC, that is until discovering the world of "LETS COVER OUR OWN ASS" clinic, mistakedly called the pain clinic.
If you are in legitimate, well documented and clinically diagnosed pain don't go here. They could give a rats rear end about patient care and the relief of suffering. You will be treated like a narcotics addict and will be asked to sign away your rights and your life, then told they won't give you any pain medicine.
We never asked for medication and yet had to sign over 5 sheets of paper regarding their narcotic policies. Some patient treatment.
This place is the beauracratic face of Big brother, an impersonal machine from hell. No one there cares about the patients. Its all about the doctors getting richer, and doing less than ever. A nightmare.
Very Poor Quality, Gross Incompetence - 03/20/2009 16:06:36

"ARMC", Alamance Regional Medical Center, seems to be aware that it has some problems to overcome. It is my fervent hope that ARMC will become the superior hospital that Alamance County citizens deserve.
ARMC’s oversight of their staff was disappointing in our experiences in 2008 and also 2009. Grave patient concerns and needs were often ignored or discounted by the staff.
One of ARMC’s weak points in patient care arises during the shift changes. There seems to be a lack of communication between shifts regarding the patients’ status updates. This was especially evident in our experience with mismanagement of medications, considerable delay in handling patient needs, and ignorance of the patient’s health issues and status.
From the vantage point of having witnessed conditions of our patients over longer term stays in this hospital, I question the facility’s sanitation, based on those hospital rooms alone. While I cannot know the conditions of the surgical rooms, I do know that two of our loved ones contracted extremely dangerous infections in surgery at ARMC.
There are many excellent nurses, assistants, and doctors affiliated with ARMC. However, there seem to be critical issues affecting some patients’ care and the reputation of the hospital. It is a beautiful facility, and should be the pride of Alamance County.
