My dad came in for flu symptoms and they decided to transfer him to another hospital for heart cath. Couldn't have given us any better news than they were going to send him somewhere else. In his 24 hours there....ordered meds and they weren't given for 12 hours. Said that his bed was ready at Rex, just needed to do paper work (which they didn't bring) and then came in 4 hours later and said because the paperwork wasn't done they gave the bed to someone down the hall. The person in the bed next to us waitined 4 hours for a breathing treatment and 8 hours to be discharged after being told he was going home. This is the most inept and ineffecient organization I have ever seen. People would rather leave sick and risk their lives than have to sit and wait for hours for what would take minutes at other hospitals. If I ran my business like this I would LOSE MY JOB!!!!! If you have any choice go somewhere where they care about their patients and not the bottom line and their own discomfort.

If you like to pay extremely excessive prices for mediocre care (and to pay for all the new equipment) please go to CCH for all your needs. My 30 minute procedure cost $6974.50, the surgeons bill was $288.00.
My neighbor had difficulties getting the night nurses to empty his urinal, so after much frustration he finally attempted to use the mostly full bottle anyway. This resulted in some being spilled onto the bed. When the nurses finally came in and discovered what had happened they became angry and while changing his sheets managed to tear the iv from his arm causing quite a lot of bleeding. He did not report this, against many friends' advice, because he felt he was at their mercy.
There are many more ghastly stories, but I cannot confirm any of the others. If you know someone in the area, please ask them how they feel about this hospital before you take my word for it, and especially before you have anything done there.
