My visit to the amherst er on Thursday july 2, 2009 is one I will never forget! While taking my five year old to be seen after falling off his sisters bike with a swollen face and eye I was rudely approached by a male nurse. While my son was getting x-rays this male nurse came to me and asked if I could keep my 2 year old quite maybe with a coloring book or something because he had patients with a headache! Then he walked away. Now I understand they may have a headache, but what am I suppose to do with my 2 year old, who by the way was being very good anyway. He wasn't crying or anyrhing he was jus excited looking at the sky decorated lights they had saying how he wanted to go outside. Well after about an hour and me complaining to the other nurse he came in with some coloring books and a bear and said he was sorry. However, i m not buying it. He was just trying to cover his ass! He could of gave me the coloring book or approached this matter in a more professional manner. Thank goodness no one came in screaming from a freak accident or something(there's people with headaches). This experience has left me feeling very uncomfortable and disrespected at a time of need!
