I like my doctor at ARC but find the call in process to be exhausting and a huge negative.
Example I tried to call in first thing today 7:00am and got lost in their auto cal in system. No matter I understood it was a bit early. Tried again at 7:30 and 8:05am and never spoke to alive person, in eternal hold.
Ok I waited until 830am, then it was busy for th enext 10 minutes. Finally got throught and explained to them that I have pink eye (caught from my son) and would like to skip an appointment and just have them get a presciption to my pharmacist (something my pediatrician did for my son since they don't want pink eye in their office, figured I'd be nice and keep it from their office). They took my message. Two hours pass and no call, now I'm getting nervous as I don't want the day to pass without getting drop or seeing the doc for it - not to mention my eye hurts and I'm spreading it more here as the day goes on.
10:40am I call back, after trying to route my call directly to the doc or nurse to leave a message (as this is the option on their phone system and seems right for what I want) I get routed to the main operator...I could have saved time by hitting 1 for a new appointment. After 5 minutes of the person not finding me in their system (they did just 2 hours prior) they pull up my data and tell me calls are returned within 24 hours. I explained my predicament and how I want tokeep from contaminating their office with Pink Eye and just want to talk to a help nurse. She says well they'll call you back. No reassurance, no follow up, just sit it out and wait. So I hang up a little pissed that I got a brush off.
I decide to call back and just make an appointment, I figure I tried to keep it from there but since no one is being helpful I need to help myself. I get through and say I need an apt today and the new person says "No appointments, we're booked." I ask is there anyone else available, I just need a quick presciption for pink eye. She says a little rude "No we are all booked all day". I then explain I just need to tlak to a help nurse I don't even want to come in but can't get anyone to call me back. She says you should come in for the evening hours coverage...I just said I'd think about it and hung up.
Just very frustraiting. I like my doctor but I think the front desk has forgotten about customer service, I'm going to find a new primary doc. Someplace who cares about my well being.
