Susan Metcalfe from Prince George,BC I was terrified ,as I was transported kicking and screaming ,at the thoughts of going to "Ponoka." After all that's where all the really crazy people went. I wasn't that bad. There had to be a mistake. My stay in Alberta hospital in Ponoka gave my life back to me. Someone finally took the time to peel off the layers to see the person who was dealing with this disease. The holistic therapies that I underwent taught me a great deal about myself, my mental illness and gave me the tools I would need in life to cope with this monster and tame its ferocity. I now live in a community that offers very poor mental health care and I am once again declining rapidly. I am seeking treatment at this facility again but I'm not sure if it is possible. That is how I happened upon this site.
