Description

People's Community Clinic is a unique Austin institution and one of the oldest continually-running independent clinics for primary care in America.

Founded in 1970 by a group of volunteer doctors and nurses, the Clinic has never wavered from its mission: to improve the health of medically underserved and uninsured Central Texans by providing high quality, affordable healthcare.

People’s Community Clinic also maintains an on-site Pharmacy to allow patients to make the Clinic a “one-stop shop” for their medical needs. The Clinic recognizes the transportation and timing challenges that patients face, as well as the difficulties of finding low-cost medication elsewhere. The Pharmacy at PCC provides patients with low-cost medications on a sliding-scale basis.

If a medication is not available at the Clinic, the Pharmacist refers the patient to a third-party low-cost generic prescription plan provider such as H-E-B or Wal-Mart (restrictions apply). The Clinic also helps patients seek out medication assistance through our Patient Pharmaceutical Assistance Program. This assistance is provided to Clinic patients through referrals by their physician
