you tell us more about your organization?
Banner Health System – Torrington is committed and prepared to provide high quality health care for the people of our region. We can offer services throughout a lifetime, from birth to long-term nursing care.
Q.What types of specialty
services does your organization provide?..
24-hour Emergency Care
No appointments are necessary to receive non-emergent medical care from a qualified and experienced Physician Assistant or Family Practitioner at a reasonable cost. Patients don't have to wait until Monday to see a physician in the clinic. The Weekend Walk-In Clinic is open at Community Hospital's Emergency Room from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays, except holidays.

Q.Describe any future
expansion plans, added services or new developments for your facility?
Banner Health System – Torrington is always looking to improve and modernize its facilities and equipment. Community Healthcare Foundation funds are used for projects, which improve health care, but is not a part of the general operating budget of Community Hospital. Gifts to our foundation are used to:
- Construct and upgrade facilities
- Purchase Patient Care Equipment
- Enhance Patient-Related Programs and Services
- Provide Educational Programs and Services
Q. What
makes working in your organization different from working for other employers?
Our pledge in building a successful community partnership by listening and responding to the needs of those we serve is never-ending. In order to archive such, we work together as a team and coordinate with other providers. We rely on a strong work ethic, based on the belief that personal achievement within teamwork is the key to success. Flexibility is a major component of the Banner Health System and we are able to run our facilities looking towards the needs of the community we serve.
Q.Can you explain the
career opportunities available for new graduates in your organization?
Banner Health System – Torrington is always open to hiring new graduate RN’s. Moreover there is a very structured orientation program throughout the Banner Health System. This program, the “Nurse Residency Program,” runs two to three times per year. A new graduate RN comes into the system, participates in training and education, obtains knowledge and experiences in different nursing units, and is then eventually placed at one of our hospitals. Occasionally we do hire other new graduates in areas such as radiology or therapy, and a structured orientation program is available in these specialty areas as well.
Q. What
can a candidate expect during their interview process?
The candidate will have a private interview with a manager, which could turn into a group interview. Position duties and details are discussed with the candidate. The organization is also discussed in more detail. There are times when the interview begins with a phone interview and can lead to a personal interview. At that time, the candidate is flown in and reimbursed for expenses
Q.What are some common
mistakes candidates make when applying for jobs with your facility?
Applicants frequently do not tell us enough about their knowledge, skill, ability and experience. Often they omit identifying certifications they have earned and training they have received. While a candidate may apply for one position, we may also wish to consider her/him for other positions for which she/he may be qualified.

Q.Most facilities stress
only the positive aspects of working for their organization. What are some
of the challenges faced by new employees and even experienced personnel?
Within our organization, one has to be conducive towards change. Our organization has evolved and expanded over the years.

Torrington has also been named the cleanest city in Wyoming. Torrington residents still enjoy pleasant, mild seasons, low humidity and pollution-free skies and water.
