Q. What makes working in your organization different from working for other employers?
McKee Medical Center is linked with several other facilities through Banner Health System. Frequent growth opportunities are available within the hospital. Banner Health System allows individual facilities the freedom to run operations independently. This allows the Medical Center to adapt well to specific needs. Flexibility is a major component of Banner Health System.
Q. Can you explain the career opportunities available for new graduates in your organization?
Occasionally, new graduates are hired in areas as needed such as the Pharmacy or in PT, Speech Therapy or Radiology. We have a very structured orientation program. It varies from department as to the length of time. McKee Medical Center provides the "Nurse Residency Program", which is held two to three times per year. A new graduate RN comes into the system, participates in training and education, obtains knowledge and experiences in different nursing units, and is then eventually placed at one of our hospitals.
Q. What can a candidate expect during their interview process?
The candidate will have a private interview with a manager, which may turn into a group interview. Details of the position are discussed. An overview of the organization is provided. A phone interview can also take place, and then the candidate could be invited for a personal interview. Candidates may be brought in from out of state and are reimbursed for expenses incurred.
Q. What are some common mistakes candidates make when applying for jobs with your facility?
Once the candidate has applied, it may be a lengthy process for an interview to take place. The candidate should be forthright and honest regarding their past history. Background checks are done on the candidates that apply.
