FOUNDATION DEVELOPMENT - Southeast Alaska Region. Day shift, & & M-F & 40 hours per week. & This position is salaried and therefore exempt from overtime pay. & Open 4/4/2006. POSITION PURPOSE
Continuously exemplifies the mission, values and customer service philosophy of PeaceHealth in job performance and in relationships with others. Responsible for Ketchikan General Hospital / PeaceHealth Southeast Alaska Region’s (KGH) comprehensive fundraising program, including planning, developing and conducting fund-raising initiatives to generate and acquire individual and corporate support. Directs the advancement of capital, annual, special event, corporate and foundation philanthropy as well as assists with planned gift strategies, marketing and implementations. Develops and directs internal and external Foundation Department communications and public relations.
Position reports to the Chief Financial Officer, the Regional Executive Team and the Foundation Board of Directors. Interacts with members of the KGH governing board, physicians, hospital management and staff, volunteers and community. Supervises volunteers and volunteer committees and support staff assigned to development activities. Provides appropriate volunteer, staff or employee training when needed.
All job duties must be performed in a manner that demonstrates commitment to customer service and support of the Mission and Values of PeaceHealth and Ketchikan General Hospital.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
· Leads the development of programs and strategies to invite major gifts to fund organizational priorities.
· Identifies, cultivates and stewards personal contact with prospects to develop their interest in major gift programs and provide guidance on any gift related concern.
· Responsible for recruiting, training and interacting with a fourteen-member community board of directors to promote support of KGH’s mission and goals.
· Develops and maintains relationships with community leaders, corporate representatives, physicians, medical providers, employees and grateful patients to advance medical center’s goals.
· Develops public relations and marketing materials to enhance KGH’s image, promotes fund raising programs and initiatives to influence potential contributors.
· Designs and delivers written and oral presentations to various business and professional groups and individuals to promote ongoing support and understanding of programs and projects.
· Responsible for board development, strategic planning and asset management.
· Responsible for the design, development and placement of donor recognition in KGH.
· Writes grants, manages and directs the grant writing activities of local and corporate staff.
· Implements and oversees management of constituent data base systems.
· Manages day-to-day operations of foundation, supervising staff and volunteers and directing activities and projects.
· Communicates appropriately with the person served regardless of their age.
· Performs other duties as required or assigned.
