Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center, located in the Boulder County community of Lafayette opened in the fall of 2004 with 144-beds and the potential to expand as the community grows. This new facility, with spacious private rooms and state-of-the-art equipment, will reflect our focus on healing. It offers breathtaking views, walking trails and natural building materials, as well as a central garden, soothing waterways and colorful flowers. Your PositionThe Executive Director is responsible for the development and operations of the Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Executive Director is responsible for translating needs of the organization into clear understandable giving opportunities for potential donors. The Executive Director is also responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and prospective donors of the organization and the planning, coordination and implementation of the major gifts/planned-giving program. The Executive Director will report to the Vice President, Community Development and the Board of Directors. The Executive Director will develop a Foundation for the new full-service, not-for-profit medical center and align all of its efforts with the strategic direction and needs of EGSMC. Design, support, manage and promote the Foundation and the development program Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts/planned giving prospects and donors Work with Board members to develop and implement the Foundation strategies Design and implement operating practices and infrastructure for the Foundation Develop marketing strategies and materials to promote the Foundation Develop and manage donor services and a creative recognition plan for all donations Establish and maintain relationships with professional advisors including estate planning attorneys, accountants, tax advisors, and financial planners who have relationships with current prospective and planned giving donors Develop and manage budgets for fundraising activities Initiate community involvement and maximize the opportunities to engage community members in Foundation activities Provide active leadership in the identification, solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship of major donors and donor prospects, to include individuals, corporations and foundations Establish database files and records including those used to track contributions and maintain accurate mailing lists Facilitate short and long range strategic planning activities to create and implement fund raising goals and objectives Prepare periodic internal and external reports for the medical center, Board of Directors, major donors, and the community, reporting on the progress of the Foundation Represent the medical center in the community, uphold the spirit and values of the organization, be an energetic member of the team, and work to strengthen the organization and its mission Our RequirementsBachelor's Degree in business, finance, development, nonprofit management, or closely related field. Minimum of ten years of direct development experience in an organization with a mature major gifts/planned gift program. Individual must have strong experience in Board development. Must have the proven ability to be a development program administrator and actively cultivate/solicit/steward major gifts and planned gifts from individuals. Demonstrated abilities in strategic planning, business acumen and effective communication Master's Degree in business, finance, development, nonprofit management or closely related field preferred Fifteen years of direct foundation experience preferred Knowledge of EGSMC community and service area preferred Bilingual preferred Experience in healthcare philanthropy preferredYour Decision If you are genuinely excited by the prospect of applying your proven expertise to the challenges of starting a new hospital, we invite you to apply today.
