Nursing Administration - Whatcom Region. Day shift, & & & 40 (1.0) hours per week. & This position is salaried and therefore exempt from overtime pay. & Open 11/1/2005. $30.08 per hour minimum. & $37.61 per hour midpoint. & $45.12 per hour maximum. In the provision of indirect patient care, the CNS integrates the overlapping roles of consultant, leader, educator, researcher, and advanced practitioner, to recognize, support and grow caring practices that enhance the wellness of patients, families, caregivers and systems, are fiscally responsible and support the core values of SJH by: Serving as a consultant to other nurses and healthcare professionals in managing highly complex patient care problems and in achieving quality, cost effective outcomes across settings. Serving as a leader in the appropriate use of research in evidence based practice innovations that improve patient care. Developing, planning, guiding and directing programs of care for populations of patients and providing direction to nursing personnel and others in these programs of care. Evaluating patient and system outcomes and cost-effectiveness of care to identify needs for practice improvements within the clinical specialty or program. Serving as a leader of multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing alternative solutions to patient care issues across the continuum of care, incorporating lean thinking principles. Demonstrates compassion, caring and respect in position. Within the scope of Clinical Nurse Specialist, Intensive Care, works collaboratively with all healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization. A graduate degree (master's or doctoral) or a post-masters certificate from a program that is recognized by a national nursing accrediting body and that prepares graduates to practice as a CNS; or a graduate degree (master's or doctoral) in related field with demonstrated ability as a CNS. Washington State RN license. National certification as a CNS in a designated specialty or in an area pertinent to the designated specialty preferred; CNS certification required within three years of hire into CNS position. Any certifications as required by staff in assigned specialty area.
Previous CNS experience preferred. Demonstrated competence in area of specialty. Must meet all training requirements for specific department. Computer experience required. Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
