Department:Patient Accounts - Qualifications: Pay Grade: 20 ($16.10 - $20.13) Knowledge, Experience & Professional Credentials Required: Bachelors degree preferred. Licensed Registered Nurse. A minimum of three years in clinical (nursing); knowledge of hospital coding; effective communication skills; detail orientation; basic computer skills; ability to cross departmental boundaries; in-depth knowledge of billing and regulatory compliance issues is preferred. Some Duties and Tasks: Act as inter-departmental liaison between the Reimbursement Department and other key revenue cycle departments, including clinical service areas, Utilization Review, Health Information Management, and Patient Accounts Perform chart reviews Assisting in on-going, comprehensive and focused Chargemaster reviews Work collaboratively with other members of the Reimbursement Department on regular tasks and on special projects Contribute to the achievement of a high standard of excellence in the Reimbursement Department Participate in chargemaster reviews - ongoing reviews - focused reviews (departmental) - comprehensive reviews Maintain audit logs Prepare reports on audit findings Review (daily, weekly or monthly) all third party payor bulletins, newsletters, etc Review annual changes to inpatient DRG and outpatient APCs, published in the Federal Register Conduct / coordinate training sessions with clinical departments Participate in Revenue Cycle Task Force meetings Assist Revenue Cycle Director in establishing / updating written Policies and Procedures, general department work plan and departmental strategies
