Description:
CHI - Lower Columbia Region. Day shift, & 0800-1700 & M-F & 40 hours per week. & This position is salaried and therefore exempt from overtime pay. & Open 4/21/2006. $23.82 per hour minimum. & $29.77 per hour midpoint. & $35.73 per hour maximum. Coordinates performance improvement projects and initiatives, assuring the integrity and confidentiality of patient information and data, to design improvements in processes and systems that impact patient care. Continuously performs all duties in a manner consistent with the standards, values, and mission of PeaceHealth, Lower Columbia Region. Coordinates the analysis and presentation of data/information to ensure accuracy, completeness, understanding, and in order to meet regulatory compliance and continuously improving patient outcomes and satisfaction. Provides clinical and research information from professional publications to assist in the improvement of patient care/outcomes. Works collaboratively with other CHI division employees to support organizational goals and objectives. Participates in the assessment of new data technology. Utilizes a variety of software applications to support improvement activities (to include, but not limited to: Cascade, IDX, Access, Excel, Word, English Wizard, Crystal Report Writer). Utilizes facilitation and conflict resolution skills to foster teambuilding and improve functional performance when coordinating improvement projects and initiatives.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
Required:
· Minimum of five years quality improvement experience in a healthcare environment working on performance improvement activities.
· Demonstrated ability to analyze complex systems and translate information for operational projects.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate information to positively impact patient outcomes.
· Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and negotiate with and influence others.
· Working knowledge of database structure, interfaces, web development and technology, data privacy and confidentiality issues.
· Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated understanding of continuous quality improvement tools and methodologies.
Preferred:
· Demonstrated ability to manage complex data systems.
· TQM/CQI/Six Sigma training by recognized vendor.
· Facilitator training.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
Required: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field, statistics, computer science, or other relevant discipline.
Desired/preferred: Master’s degree in a healthcare related field, statistics, computer science, or other relevant discipline.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Fast paced office environment with frequent environmental exposure to low-grade radiation from computer monitor.
SENSORY/PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Sensory: Ability to see computer monitor and hear telephone and other office systems.
Physical: Frequent head/neck static position, rotation, flexion and extension. Frequent torso/back static position; occasional stooping, bending and twisting. Frequent finger dexterity; occasional simple grasp and wrist flexion. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and climbing of stairs and ramps. Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying.
Mental: Must have the ability to learn and prioritize multiple tasks within the scope and guidelines of the position and its requirements, many requiring extremely complex cognitive capabilities. Must be able to manage conflict, communicate effectively and meet time-sensitive deadlines
