Category: Other//Other, Facility:Goshen Care Center ,Location: WY-Torrington, Department:Nursing Services, The licensed practical nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivery of nursing care to individuals based on data collection, contribution to the care plan, and collaboration with integrated team members, and educational needs of the patient, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Additionally, the LPN is accountable for on-going data collection and documentation of all components of care he/she provides to customers in the Torrington Banner Health facilities. This position is for Goshen Care Center - Long Term Care Facility. Must be wiling to work various shifts, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities: 1. Member of the Profession: The LPN is accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the LPN scope of practice. The LPN supervises and is accountable for the continuum of care, including, but not limited to CNA practice and collaborating with RNs. 2. Provider: The LPN, using identified standards of practice based on the nursing process, helps the patient/family/consumer to identify and to meet basic health needs in a wide variety of settings. The LPN participates in coordinating care of the patient/resident/family/consumer using an interdisciplinary holistic approach. 3. Advocate: The LPN promotes a climate in which patients/families/ consumers may act in their own interest and intervenes when patients/residents/ families/consumers are unable to act in their own interest. 4. Manager: The LPN as manager works to achieve desired outcomes of patient/resident/family/consumer through the effective use of personnel, equipment, supplies, and work systems. 5. Educator: The LPN, using the nursing process, assists in providing patient/resident/family/consumer education using a wide range of teaching methods to promote health in a variety of settings.
Qualifications: • Education/Experience: Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing required. • Other qualifications/certificate/license: Current license to practice nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Wyoming. • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification. • Venipuncture skills or IV certification preferred.
